What happened to Robin?
On today’s Wanted Wednesday we start with a cold case from the late 90s. In 2009, Raquel Welch lost vision in both eyes after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor, but Welch says she never lost sight of her former classmate Robin Smith. “Even though I can’t see anything, I still see her. I still see her face.”
Robin Smith never made it home...
Smith was last seen at 11:26 p.m. on September 2, 1998, after she completed her shift at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in the 4500 block of 13th Street in Gulfport, Mississippi. She worked as a floor clerk at the nurse's station.
She called her mother from the hospital parking lot to check on her children. She got into her black four-door 1997 Mitsubishi Gallant with tinted windows and the Mississippi license plate number RBB-712 and drove away. A photograph of the car is posted with this case summary.

Welch says she and Smith grew up together in Pass Christian, just a grade apart in school. “We were friends. I was really close with her brother. I knew her whole family. I’m from the Pass, everybody knows everybody. I’ve known her since kindergarten.”
